Quick and straightforward buttercream icing recipe!
- 1 cup solid vegetable shortening
- 1 teaspoon clear flavoring (vanilla, almond or butter)
- 7 to 8 teaspoons (35 to 40 mL) of water (could be milk)
- 1 tablespoon meringue powder
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- Pinch of salt
Preparation time 15mins
Cooking time 15mins
In large bowl, cream shortening then add vanilla.
Dissolve salt in water and add to bowl.
Add dry ingredients and blend until combined.
Beat another 5 minutes or so until creamy.
