Sweet and Sour Sauce
Love the sweet and tangy sauce you get from your favourite Chinese takeout? Now it is simple to make at home! Serve with grilled chicken, or make a conventional fried pork and serve with rice.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2/3 cup pineapple juice
- 1/3 cup rice vinegar
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Preparation
In a small bowl, whisk together water and cornstarch, and set aside.
Combine pineapple juice, rice vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, and soy sauce in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir in the cornstarch and water mixture, and cook until thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
Remove from heat and use instantly or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
